State of Denial

I’m sorry, but to me the State of the Union address was more of a State of Denial speech. I look around and see: a economy that is not recovering, many people still out of work or underemployed, people I know paying more for everything and getting taxed more on top of it, a “student loan bubble” in the making, and the breakdown of individual accomplishment, accountability, and responsibility.

Want more denial? The president said his initiatives would not add to the ever growing deficit. Then where are we going to get the money to pay for them? You only advocated modest reforms and cuts Sir. The kind of money that it will take to pay for those initiatives is going to take a lot more than that.

  1. We live in a world where instead of actions speaking louder than words, words speak louder than actions. As long as it sounds good politicians know the mass of sheeple out there could care less if what they say is true. It’s a sad commentary on the direction we are heading as a nation.

  2. Turned the TV on last night to watch something while I ate dinner – the speach was on the first three channels I clicked to, so I shut the TV off. It’s all just air anyway – since nothing any politician says anymore has any value – there is no iron in their words for all to see.
